Cabrières-d'Avignon

  • Continue on to Saint-Pantaléon, a discreet and authentic hamlet known for its unusual rock-cut necropolises carved directly into the stone. A timeless place, far from the crowds, that perfectly sets the tone for this off-the-beaten-path adventure.

Saint-Pantaléon

The road climbs toward Lacoste, perched high on its hillside with breathtaking views over the entire Luberon valley. The village is dominated by the imposing silhouette of the Château du Marquis de Sade, now owned by fashion designer Pierre Cardin.

  • Lacoste Castle: Stunning panoramic views over the Luberon and eastern Luberon.
  • The Village : Stone alleyways, artists’ studios, and an intimate Provençal atmosphere.

Lacoste

Just opposite Lacoste, on the other side of the valley, Bonnieux marks the end of the road section and the beginning of the gravel adventure. Before leaving the tarmac behind, take a moment to catch your breath and enjoy the exceptional views over the Calavon Valley and Mont Ventoux.

  • The Upper Church: A 12th-century church surrounded by centuries-old cedar trees.
  • Panoramic Viewpoint: The perfect spot before heading onto the trails.
